Today felt like summer as we had a big group of divers jump on Mega Wild for a trip out to South Solitary Island for a lovely Saturday Dive! We were welcomed to the island with beautiful blue water, around 20 metres visibility!

Manta Arch through the Gap and ending at The Gantry was the choice for our first dive. It was nice to see around 15+ Grey Nurse Sharks cruising in and out of the Back Gutter, with around half a dozen inside of The Arch itself. Some Scalloped Hammerhead Sharks did a fly by over The Arch itself. A Queensland Grouper was also seen nearby to the mooring.

Dive two saw divers riding the current from Shark Gutters down to the Gantry. More Grey Nurse Sharks were seen, Green Turtles and Hawksbill Turtles, Black Cod, schooling fish, Golden Egg Cowries, and both Abbots and White Eyed Morays. Divers also experienced a thermocline on this dive so decided to stick to the top end of the island for the majority of the dive!

Visibility 20 m

Temperature: 22°C
