22nd February 2026- Leopards on a sunday!
After a couple of days out of the water, we had some very keen divers ready to jump back in! Mega Wild powered out through the northerly wind to arrive at South Solitarty Island, surrounded by some very blue water!
First up, we decided Buchanans was the best spot for our divers to get in it! Lucky for us, regardless of the wind direction, we pretty much always have somewhere on the island to get in at! We always enjoy our dives here- it slows us down and encourages us to take a look at the small things! Molly, our instructor, accompanied by her Advanced Diver students, was able to see a Pipefish at the bottom of the wall in about 30 metres of water! Other notable marine creatures seen at the wall were a Green Turtle (picking at his lunch), a Cowfish and Box Fish, and some Moray Eels!
Dive two was in and out at the Gantry. With visibility like today, you can’t beat a swim around 5-metre rock! Leopard Sharks and Turtles were the biggest highlight of this dive. Four very inquisitive Leopard Sharks showed their suave tail movements as they swam by us, whilst a heap of Turtles was seen inside the gap. Heaps of Cuttlefish and Octopus were seen, along with our favourite Blue Grouper and some wobbegongs
Congratualtions to Matt and Jorgie for completing your PADI Open Water Diver Course today!
