Unlike traditional rear exhaust regulators, which increase breathing resistance in certain positions—like when looking up—the TFX delivers smooth, consistent airflow in any diving posture. Front Exhaust Valve Positioning
Atomic Aquatics engineers carefully deconstructed every component of earlier front exhaust regulators to rethink their functionality and performance. This deep dive led to the creation of the unique Atomic TFX Regulator. By placing the exhaust valve at the center of the inhalation diaphragm—and mounting both at the front—they unlocked enhanced breathing performance and superior dryness. Traditional and conventional designs simply can’t match it.
IMPROVED PRESSURE DIFFERENTIAL & WATER COLUMN EFFECT
In extreme diving positions—such as looking upward—the TFX keeps the exhaust valve and diaphragm perfectly level, eliminating pressure differences. As a result, any water that enters collects at the exhaust valve and is easily expelled with each breath. Unlike conventional regulators, which place the diaphragm above the mouthpiece and create a larger water column effect, the TFX minimizes this issue. It remains easy to inhale from, regardless of your position. This makes the TFX far less sensitive to the shifting attitudes divers experience underwater.
CASE ARCHITECTURE & EXHAUST DEFLECTION
The bold TFX design posed significant engineering and design challenges, leading to an all-new case architecture. Engineers developed a complex blend of fluid, natural geometries that fit seamlessly within the regulator’s narrow-width case and front cover. These unique forms weren’t just for style—they served essential functions. For example, the team created an innovative way to route exhaust from the front to the rear of the regulator. Form truly follows function, with a sweeping, flexible front purge cover and extended soft silicone exhaust deflectors that direct bubbles away from the diver’s field of view

The Atomic Aquatics Limited Lifetime Warranty is not contingent on proof of annual service.
Atomic Aquatics offers the most courageous warranty in the dive industry. Your regulator is the soul of your dive system. You don’t need to worry about it performing…especially if you are in some remote location where competent repair is a remote concept. That’s why every Atomic Aquatics regulator is built using materials and processes that resist corrosion and minimize maintenance – so you can log lots of dives over a long time with supreme confidence. While every regulator benefits from annual servicing, Atomic Aquatics regulators do not require it. So you can worry less and dive more with Atomic Aquatics.
